In previous years, we had a tradition of going to Galena Illinois to snow ski at Chestnut Mountain. This photo was taken from one of the lifts, with a view out over the Mississippi River. (Isn’t the water such a beautiful turquoise color on the blue-sky clear February winter day?!) Last year we decided to break our tradition and keep our record of no skiing injuries or broken bones. Seeing this photo reminds me of the anticipation, experience, and memories of our winter skiing adventures. To honor the anniversary of Galena trips, I’ve included a few bonus photos below from our many trips.
