Kaunos

I took this photo on vacation in Turkey during the summer of 2011. This is at the Kaunos ruins. What you can’t see is the view out to the sea and the winding river and marsh that leads into the town of Dalyan where we stayed. Today’s bonus photo is of the cave tomb ruins that we got to see as we walked from our hotel to Kaunos, which are especially beautiful at night when they are lit up and you can admire them from across the river in the town. It’s really hard to imagine the labor involved in creating these magnificent structures.
