I took this photo in San Agostinillo, Mexico on one of our holiday breaks. The property where we stay has many hibiscus and bougainvillea (apparently the pet iguanas love fallen hibiscus flowers – see the bonus photo below of one of the pets). The blossoms always make me smile when I walk past one of the beautiful plants. When I snapped this photo, I was playing around with ways to capture the flower from different angles and exploring how the perspective changed the way the light played with my subject. I love the whimsy of this photo.
