I took this photo in Mazunte, Oaxaca, Mexico in January 2019. I’m unsure what kind of flower it is. Looks like a lily. It was a huge plant that was the size of a small tree, located on the main road in town, near the main square. I love how it lifts itself as close up as it can to the sunlight streaming from above and the magnificent fuchsia color.
As a bonus, I’m also including a photo of Corona de Christo, or Christ thorn, flower, also a lovely pinkish color. This flower was growing on the beach next to a restaurant in San Agustinillo, the town next to Mazunte. This photo was taken in December 2017.
